2nd GCC LAW & ARBITRATION WEEK

GCC Law and Arbitration Week

a global Gulf platform for those looking to work or invest in the GCC countries

Following the tremendous success of the first edition of the "GCC Law and Arbitration Week" held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 26 to 30, 2025, the Commercial Arbitration Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is organizing the second edition, which will take place in Bahrain from January 25 to 29, 2026.

The center aims to make this week a global Gulf destination for those looking to work or invest in the GCC countries. All Gulf institutions, as well as relevant ministries and governmental bodies involved in investment, economics, and business, will participate to present their projects and investments. The week will showcase legislative frameworks and judicial systems, including arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms across all GCC countries, making it a primary hub for the business community, investors, and stakeholders from around the world.

We invite you to join this significant economic and legal event, where business leaders and investors from the Gulf will meet their counterparts from around the world, particularly from the G20 nations, along with leaders from the governmental sector and experts in management, law, and arbitration. This week serves as a platform for discussing major projects and investments exceeding one trillion dollars annually across all sectors of development and economy, as well as explaining laws and arbitration systems in all GCC countries. This event represents the largest gathering of elite leaders and decision-makers in the Gulf and worldwide, marking a vital step toward enhancing the business and investment environment in the region, contributing to sustainable economic development.

G.C.C COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION CENTRE

Their Majesties and Highnesses, the esteemed leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council nations, endorsed the establishment of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre and operational framework during the fourteenth Riyadh Summit, convened from 7 to 9 Rajab in the year 1414, equivalent to 20 to 22 December 1993. This decision followed a comprehensive assessment of the General Secretariat's proposal concerning the Centre, along with the commendation of the Commercial Cooperation Committee at its nineteenth assembly in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in September 1993.
Additionally, the esteemed Ministers of Justice expressed their support for the Centre's establishment during their fifth meeting that same month, further reinforced by the endorsement of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Council during their ninth session.
